Founded in 1963
More Than Six Decades of Charging Innovation
Since 1963, Lester Electrical has designed and manufactured industrial battery chargers and other electrical power conversion and storage products in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Our first battery charger was developed for electric golf cars. From that beginning, Lester expanded into charging solutions for electric vehicles, industrial equipment, automation, stationary power, and other demanding commercial applications.
The technology has changed dramatically. Our focus on quality, reliability, engineering, and long-term customer relationships has not.

Our History
Built on Generations of Innovation
Lester Electrical's history reflects the evolution of electric equipment itself—from early golf car battery charging to modern, intelligent and connected power systems.
1960s
Lester Electrical of Nebraska
In the early 1960s, Don Wilson began selling battery chargers to Cushman Motors in Lincoln. Lanny Carrier and Don later established Lester Electrical of Nebraska, Inc. with four employees in 3,000 square feet of leased space.
1970s
DV/DT Charge Control
Lester introduced patented DV/DT charge control with the Lestronic I charger, allowing batteries to be fully and properly charged without relying on the user.
1980s
Stationary Power
After years of growth in motive power, Lester introduced its first stationary and reserve power product line and expanded into critical industrial charging markets.
1990s
DC Plug & Receptacle Systems
Lester expanded its connection-system expertise with new patented DC plug and receptacle solutions for electric vehicles and utility equipment.
2000s
Summit Series II
High-frequency charging technology, Bluetooth communication, and cloud connectivity helped establish a new generation of intelligent Lester chargers.
Today
Ascendrix & What's Next
Lester continues developing next-generation battery charging technology while expanding the communication, integration, and serviceability capabilities customers expect from modern electric equipment.
